Guinot Tips from Leonilla

But I’m SENSITIVE!

Both stress and dehydration can increase the skins sensitivity making it look high in colours due to the dilation of the capillaries.

Look for a soothing, sensitive range.

Help – do I have dry or dehydrated skin?

Dry skin is skin lacking in oil whereas dehydrated skin is lacking in water (moisture).

Contributors to dehydrated skin include air conditioning, central heating, flying, not drinking sufficient water, lack of sleep and stress. Obviously part of the battle is to therefore avoid or reverse these factors where possible.

Look for a Moisturising Sources range to help in the battle by hydrating the skin by pumping water into the epidermis and keeping skin moistened and supple.

Regarding dry skin, with age we loose more oil and elasticity. Look at your lifestyle contributory factors like smoking, too much caffeine, alcohol, stress, lack of exercise or fresh air.

Make sure your intake includes oil fish and olive oil and look at a skincare range to help restore oil in your skin and prevent loss.

Good Morning! The under-eye bags and dark circles

Lack of sleep raises cortisol levels which causes skin to retain fluid.

Drinking a large glass of water before you go to bed to help dilute excessive sodium in your system and sleeping on a thick pillow will help reduce puffiness.

In the morning an appropriate Eye Gel which reduces shadows and puffiness.

Before applying Makeup, use an instant action lightening treatment to revive tired skin.

And on the makeup side look at a Mineral Makeup Concealer which can work on puffiness and dark circles and may diminish them in time due to the Vitamin K.

Concealing – the art

Many of us have something to conceal be it a blemish, dark circles, bruises, acne scars, scratches, burns or veins.

Concealers to the rescue. Look at one of the excellent mineral concealers.
